As part of the BKU evening event "Corporate Political Responsibility (CPR) - The socio-political responsibility of entrepreneurs" on August 31, 2020, Dr. Johannes Bohnen presented key theses from his current book.
The discussion of economic issues from the perspective of Christian social teaching are central concerns of the BKU. Jan-Philipp Görtz, the event organizer, emphasized the importance of faith and social responsibility for Christian-inspired entrepreneurs. In his presentation at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Berlin, Bohnen explained that the interest of companies in functioning democratic processes goes far beyond industry-specific
lobbying. Instead, they have the opportunity to position themselves for the common good through political participation projects or basic sociopolitical training. Bohnen's central thesis that political involvement by companies is now more than ever a business case initiated a lively discussion among the
40 company representatives. The guests felt it was necessary to increase the commitment of business elites to a genuine social dialog and to preserve the foundations of our free democratic basic order.
